Every single product Margot Robbie's manicurist used to create her Oscars night nail look

Margot Robbie surprised everyone watching the 96th Academy Awards ceremony this week when she arrived in a look that was the antithesis of the pink Barbie wardrobe that's become the film producer's signature style during Barbie's awards season journey.

Just like her Barbie co-star, America Ferrera, Robbie wore a figure-hugging chainmail Versace gown from the label's autumn/winter 2025 collection. But Robbie passed on the pink baton to Ferrera who wore a bright pink hue on Oscar night, while Robbie opted for a brown, almost black, strapless, corseted gown.

Robbie maintained a subdued and neutral palette for her makeup and nails, in keeping with the style of her dress too.

Makeup artist Pati Dubroff accentuated Robbie's lash line with a matte black eyeliner and selected a taupe coloured lipstick for her pout, and the actress' nail artist Betina Goldstein followed suit with a brown manicure that complemented her Versace gown.

"For Margot’s nails I wanted a colour to compliment the brown tones of her dress, but still feel light and modern. I love the balanced tones of warm caramel in Chanel Le Vernis Légende," Goldstein shared with her Instagram followers. 

While we love the result of the pair's collaboration (the manicure is flawless), we were shocked when we calculated the price of all the products Goldstein used to achieve the look.

Goldstein started Robbie's manicure with a range of luxurious Chanel skin care products to help nourish and condition the skin. 

First, she gently exfoliated Robbie's hands with the Chanel Sublimage Les Grains De Vanille ($150 from MYER), which contains vanilla seeds and jojoba beads that help to slough away dead skin cells to reveal softer, smoother and brighter skin. 

Next, she used the Chanel Sublimage L’extrait ($820 from MYER), a serum-in-oil product that utilises rejuvenating and reparative ingredients to minimise the first signs of ageing. 

Goldstein sealed in the serum formula with the Chanel Sublimage La Créme ($638 from MYER), which is made for dry skin and helps to promote hydration, radiance and smooth skin. It also helps to minimise the appearance of wrinkles too. 

Interestingly, the oil Goldstein used on Robbie's hands is yet another face product, which is intended to brighten, smooth and plump skin: the Chanel Le Blanc Huile ($220 from Chanel).

But what about the polish part of Robbie's manicure?

Well, Goldstein prepped the nail plate using a single and thin coat of the Chanel La Base ($49 from David Jones) base coat. Then she applied two coats of the aforementioned Chanel Le Vernis Légende ($48 from David Jones), letting each coat dry completely before she applied the next. Finally, she layered a thin coat of the Chanel Le Gel Top Coat ($48 from MYER) to minimise chips and enhance shine.
