#MaleArt is the latest boys-only nail trend
New nail trends seem to crop up every day, however, most of them are more female-friendly. But thankfully nail art-loving guys, your prayers have been answered by #MaleArt – a new nail trend that has been seen on celebrities like A$AP Rocky, Harry Styles and Marc Jacobs.
The #MaleArt trend, which refers to any form of nail art for men, has really taken off lately, and we’ve seen some truly wild styles.
During the recent international fashion weeks, we spotted A$AP Rocky wearing iconographic nails front row at NYFW, while designer Marc Jacobs recreated on his own digits the 3D design that the models at his Spring/Summer 2020 show wore down the runway.
There was also that time Harry Styles opted for a rainbow manicure at this year’s MET Gala; Anwar Hadid donned a matching manicure with his girlfriend Dua Lipa; and then there’s Jonathan Van Ness who regularly uses his nails as a way to pay homage to his favourite TV shows and movies (such as Golden Girls and The First Wives Club).
In case these famous male manis weren’t reason enough for you to get on board yourself, the Polished Man campaign will convince you. The worldwide initiative challenges all men and women to paint their fingernails during the month of October to raise awareness for and help end violence against children.
So, to help inspire your own #MaleArt manicure, here’s a round-up of the best men’s nail art designs that have really caught our eye lately.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
