Rihanna just blessed us with the most epic makeup tutorial
And we want to be her friend
Um we didn’t think it was possible, but after watching Rihanna’s Vogue makeup tutorial, we somehow love her *even* more. Not only is she damn hilarious (she tried, like, 20 different intros) and suuuper honest, but she also knows how to nail a good going-out makeup look.
In her 10-minute video, the singer shared one of her go-to makeup looks for a night out, using her own Fenty Beauty products. Along with some of her best sellers, she teased us with a sneaky preview of some new products that are yet to be released (and yes - we want everything).
“I have been watching women do makeup since my mom and [then] I started working in an industry where [it] was going to be a part of my every day basically, so I picked up a lot of tips,” she explains.
She starts off by applying her Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation with a beautyblender, before moving on to contouring with the Fenty Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha. And while doing so, she lets us in on an infinite bit of wisdom: “Very important to contour your face for your face, not the way you see on every YouTube tutorial, because everybody has a different shape,” she advises.
It may seem like a simple bit of advice, but it’s so damn true.
“I learned how to contour when I gained weight, believe it or not. That’s when it comes in real handy. Them fat days and your cheeks lookin’ like baby cheeks.”
Did we mention we love her?
Next she applies concealer to the back of her hand to warm it up pre-application (we’re totally going to try this btw) then swipes it under her eyes and taps it down with a small makeup sponge. “Everybody knows concealer is made for hiding bags, and dark circles, and hangovers, and bad decisions.”
She then moves on to applying a matte setting powder saying, “When you get greasy on the fly, honey, it is no joke!” Yep it’s pretty much the most real makeup tutorial we’ve ever seen - and we’re going to watch it a million times over.
After bronzer she uses an earthy pigment to accentuate her eyes and applies a deep pink shadow and a golden shimmer to the inner corners of her eyes.
To finish it all off, Rihanna reaches for her Fenty Body Lava Luminizer, which she blends all over her décolletage and shoulders with a kabuki brush “because this is where the magic lies”, for an out-of-this-world shimmer.
Our favourtie part? When she signs off with “We goin’ to the clurb!”
*Cue hair flick*
Can we please be her best friend?!
