In huge beauty news today, American actress Viola Davis has just been announced as the new face of L’Oréal Paris.
The Oscar-winning actress will be joining the awe-inspiring ranks of other extraordinary L’Oréal Paris ambassadors including Céline Dion, Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria and Camila Cabello.
Viola has previously spoken out about her personal struggles with self-esteem and has long been an advocate for building confidence in women and young girls, telling Self back in 2016:
“I suffered from low self-esteem for much of my life. And now to feel like maybe something that I’m projecting or saying could mean something to someone means a lot to me. I feel that confidence in women—especially young girls of colour—but women in general is so important. It is so important for us to arm ourselves and become powerful at a very young age.”
And, it’s clear Viola has big plans to use her appointment as L’Oréal Paris’s newest global spokesperson to spread her messages of self-worth to women around the world. When posting on Instagram about her new beauty gig, Viola wrote:
“The self affirming words of, ‘Because I’m worth it’ have always given me chill bumps. What a joy it will be to not just say them over and over again...but to spread the message of worth to women around the world. It is a gift.”
