Genderless nail polish is here thanks to rapper Lil Yachty
There’s nothing that gets us excited quite like seeing a snazzy set of nails, especially when the person wearing them is throwing the gender-norm rule book out the window.
That’s why when rapper Lil Yachty recently revealed to his Instagram followers that he was launching his own collection of genderless nail polishes, it’s safe to say we were chomping at the bit to know more.
The post in question not only gave us the brand’s release date but a key insight into the rapper’s mentality regarding self-expression. Yachty wrote to his fans: “I’d like to introduce my new nail paint line @crete__co .... FIRST COLOR DROP MAY 21. 4 ALL GENDERS. FOR YOU, NOT THEM!”
Yachty’s fashion sense is impeccable, so we’re not surprised that the rapper has delivered an uber-minimalist range of neutral-toned nail paints housed in what we can only describe as some truly inspired packaging.
The rapper modeled an impressive mani using the black, white and silver nail paints in the range too, while also somehow finding time to catch up on some admin using a retro model of computer. Chic.
We look forward to seeing what exciting nail paints CRETE drops next.. We love a red Yachty, just FYI.
Though the brand’s website is still in its early stages, you can sign up for email updates regarding the first limited edition drop if you want to be first in the know.
We love these thought-provoking beauty launches. In fact, we recently sat down with three industry insiders to discuss the role of makeup in the modern performance of gender.
