This French brand has created the world’s first microplastic-free mascara
Because being environmentally aware is *chefs kiss*
Just in case you didn't realise we were living in the modern age of beauty, French makeup brand La Bouche Rouge Paris have just released the world’s first-ever microplastic-free mascara — packaging and all. The Parisian brand announced the launch via their Instagram and people have been buzzing about the new eco-friendly option.
Not only have the innovative thinkers behind the product created a fully recyclable glass bottle to house their jet black mascara, but as the brand explained to one curious commenter, “you will be able to choose a fine leather or vegan mascara case with your mascara to slide over the glass bottle. It can be engraved and you can reuse it forever.”
The green goodness doesn’t stop there though, because they’ve somehow also managed to create a mascara formula that is made of 99 per cent naturally derived ingredients, that’s free from petrochemicals AND simultaneously nourishes lashes. Um what?!
As for the finish, you can expect a very natural and fluffy yet defined lash look with an ultra black pigment that’s perfect for the office or a natural, everyday makeup look — think quintessential French beauty. Fingers crossed the brand releases a volumising formula to follow for those of us who like a bit more va-va-voom in their lash.
For La Bouche Rouge, this kind of forward thinking is nothing new. The brand has always been at the forefront of providing sustainable eco-friendly solutions for makeup. In fact their hero product is a refillable lipstick that can be customised with a personalised fine leather or vegan lipstick bullet case.
You can snag the mascara at the La Bouche Rouge website — and yes, they have worldwide delivery available, so you can get this little guy down under too.
