Keke Palmer blessed fans with a cystic acne makeup tutorial
A public service announcement if you will
Keke Palmer hasn’t been shy about the fact that she’s suffered with chronic acne since her teens, but it wasn’t until recently that the actress discovered the root of her skin issues was actually undiagnosed PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome.
Though Keke may now have her diagnosis, it doesn’t change the fact that she still struggles with acne and the scarring that her skin has accumulated over the years. So, it’s no wonder that fans have been clamouring to get their hands on her acne coverage makeup routine for a while now.
In response, thoughtful Keke created a full-blown tutorial on IGTV, taking us through the makeup routine she relies on for the days when she just wants her skin to look good without having to worry about whether her acne or scars are showing.
“To all my people suffering with conditions and acne, ignore the misguided comments suggesting things for you. There are a lot of people trying to sell products, I tried to delete them all! If you want help seek it out through extensive research, don’t let people take advantage of your condition on Instagram. — y’all should be ashamed.”
“I had fun doing this and would potentially do one again, took a lot of time editing tho lol 😅. I can’t do my makeup and not talk hahaha it’s literally the best part of doing your makeup with your girls 😍😍”.
Check out the awe-inspiring results for yourself below - this girl really knows what she’s doing:
Keke even gave fans a full product run-down of each step but ultimately implores people to reach for what works for them:
“Prep: AQUAPHOR and CAUDALIE Beauty Elixer
Powders: MAC Dark Mineralizing Skin Finish Studio Fix NW 58
Lancôme ABSOLUTE powder in Absolute Almonds
Ben Nye 6B01
Blush: I used eyeshadow cause I ran out, don’t do what I did. Be better than me 😭
Concealers: NARS concealer in Medium 2 GINGER and Medium dark WALNUT MAC Studio Fix Correction Palette
Foundation: Pro Long Wear NC 50
This is MY process, for those that asked but use whatever works for you dolls”.
We're not surprised she's got a few tricks up her sleeve, Keke Palmer is the experimental beauty icon we all deserve.
