This Korean hair treatment is being touted as an Olaplex dupe
Here at Beauty Crew, we love a good dupe, especially when it’s a cheaper alternative for one of our cult-favourite beauty products: Olaplex.
The Internet has been abuzz with word of an affordable collagen hair treatment that mimics the results of the best-selling hair treatment Olaplex. The new kid on the block is the K-Beauty offering, Elizavecca Collagen Coating Hair Treatment, which can be found on Amazon and retails for less than $7!
Amazon shoppers are so fond of this little guy that its currently ranked as the number one most-wanted hair treatment on the site, with people adding this to their wish list more often than any other product.
The secret to the hair treatment’s success seems to be down to a combination of its excellent price point and nourishing and strengthening ingredient list. The hair treatment contains soy protein extract that works to repair damaged hair, while ceramide 3 conditions, and collagen strengthens and promotes hair growth.
The only thing missing from the formula is Olaplex’s salon-quality bond strengthening technology, but Amazon shoppers don’t seem to mind, with many saying the results are comparable and some even claiming that they prefer this Elizavecca hair treatment:
“My hair is very damaged from all of the bleaching, coloring and chemical treatments and I iron my hair 2-3 times a week. I use this collagen treatment after I shampoo and condition…2 times a week and I can really see the difference. My hair is noticeably less frizzy after air drying and it feels moisturized, soft and silky.”
“I've used this 2x so far and I just ordered 2 more tubes. It's amazing. My hair hasn't been this soft since I was a child.”
“This is the first product that I have ever used where I saw immediate results. For those out there that have tried Olaplex at home treatment, its very similar in consistency but I think I see better results and this product is much cheaper.”
Though it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be able to give up on our Olaplex completely (we mean, the stuff is like hair crack), it’s nice to know that there’s a cheaper option available for those emergency beauty purchases that are a little *too* close to pay day.
