Knowing what fragrance is appropriate can make the difference between stifling colleagues in the elevator or leaving behind a subtly scented trail that has everyone wondering what you’re wearing. Nick Smart, Director of Agence de Parfum shares his tips on how to pick the perfect fragrance for three different occasions.

1

What to spritz for: Brunch

Soft floral fragrances are classic and feminine, making them ideal for warm days and breezy brunches. “The re-emergence of the rose offers a modern twist on tradition,” says Smart, noting that today’s rose scents are “enhanced by feminine fruity notes and accents of clean aldehydes and musk”.

Fresh green, water and citrus notes are both natural and energetic, perfectly complementing casual outdoor gatherings. “The emergence of crisp and green floral scents, the combination of citrus and floral bouquet scents, and the addition of florals to water- and green-based fragrance are all new trends,” explains Smart.
