Gwyneth Paltrow dished out her *entire* nightly skin care routine
Hint: Get ready for a TON of exfoliating

Who doesn’t love a good celeb beauty tutorial? We LIVE for this stuff. So when Gwyneth Paltrow recently spilled her entire PM skin care routine on Harper Bazaar’s ‘Go-To Bed With Me’ series, you can bet we were ready to soak up all the advice we could get.
And we can confirm she uses an impressive list of products, which casually totals up to a cool $800 (yep, you read right - $800 worth of products). And this is just her nighttime skin care routine!
While the price tag might not be entirely feasible for pretty much anyone who isn’t a celebrity, her actual skin care routine is totally doable.
It looks like it all boils down to exfoliating and boosting hydration. But mostly the former – she is ALL about the scrub. But hey, if it helps our skin look anything close to Gwyneth’s glowing, makeup-free post-shower skin, we’re all about it, too.
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that around 90 per cent of the products she uses are from her brand Goop (which isn’t available in Australia just yet). However, she does use a few other brands, as well.
Looking all luminous and white fluffy-robbed, she breaks down her shower time routine – which starts with dry-brushing using the Goop G.Tox Dry Brush (we recommend The Body Shop Cactus Long Handle Brush for similar results).
She also reaches for her “two favourite G.Tox products” – the Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub, which “scrubs your scalp without drying out your hair”, and the 5 Salt Detox Body Scrub, which “leaves your skin feeling smooth and with a beautiful glow”.
For her face routine, the wellness guru starts off with a three-step exfoliation, opting for her Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial. “This is like a professional facial in a jar,” she says. “On the jar it only says to use it three times a week, but I use it every night.” After leaving it on until her skin tingles, Gwyneth adds some water to her fingers and starts on the manual exfoliation. She then does the “third exfoliation” with a cotton washcloth.
If you want to replicate Gwyneth’s exfoliating routine, just make sure to err on the side of caution - don’t go overboard. If you need to brush up on your exfoliation knowledge, check out our tips on the dos and don’ts of exfoliating.
Next up, the star applies Vintner’s Daughter Botanical Serum (note: not a Goop product!), “I love it…it’s full of all kinds of fantastic things,” she says. For her under-eye area, which Gwyneth says is “a very important part of the process,” she reaches for Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream. She then finishes off with a slick of lip balm (Love + Sage Lip Balm).
