Review Crew®: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water range

Our reviewers put the makeup removers to the test

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / May 25 2017

One of the best solutions to clean, makeup-free, skin is a clever multi-tasking product that works to remove makeup and cleanse in a single swipe.

We’re talking about micellar water, a formulation made up of tiny micelles that work as magnets to lift dirt and impurities to leave skin clean and nourished.

But to test how well the product actually works, we gathered a selection of women of all ages with different skin types to sample one of the three Garnier Micellar Waters. Those with normal and sensitive skin types tried Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water for Normal to Sensitive Skin, combination to oily skin types tried Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination to Oily Skin, and those with acne-prone skin or skin prone to imperfections tried Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water for Skin Prone to Imperfections.

These products claim to thoroughly cleanse the face, eyes and lips without rubbing, require no rinsing after use, work to soothe the skin’s delicate surface, and deliver a refreshed complexion, and here’s what the Review Crew® testers had to say.

The Review Crew® verdict for Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water for Normal to Sensitive Skin:

After sampling the product, members were impressed with how well the product removed makeup and impurities from the face, and how little product they needed to do so. The Review Crew® also made special mention of how the product made their skin feel afterwards, with many saying that it didn’t make their skin feel tight or stripped from hydration.

I was surprised at how well the product worked considering it just looked like water! It left the skin feeling clean and refreshed. I liked how it was fuss-free and didn't need rinsing off, especially in a hurry.

The Review Crew® verdict for Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination to Oily Skin:

The portion of Review Crew® testers with combination and oily was especially impressed with how it left their skin feeling clean and fresh without being too harsh, and many mentioned they found the formula mattified their skin and helped control oil production during the day. Members also mentioned that it was a great to travel with, as you didn’t need to rinse the product off with water afterwards.

My skin felt really clean, both when wearing makeup and not - and also removed my eye makeup, which I generally need to use a specific remover for. The product did seem to mattify my skin and it seemed to stay that way for most of the day.

Members who tried this product thought that it was really easy to use, and praised its powers to remove makeup from the face, eyes and lips without causing any irritation to sensitive skin.

Love this product. It made my skin feel clean with no nasty residue. It was nice not needing to rinse off. It was easy to use and easily removed my makeup without having to rub. I will definitely use again as it's a great price as well.
