The easy solution for stubborn blackheads

Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about this charcoal peel-off mask

The product

If you’ve just about had it with your blackheads and clogged pores, you may want to consider trying a charcoal peel-off mask. Designed to get rid of blackheads, tame excess oil and minimise pores, charcoal masks are perfect for anyone with breakout-prone skin.

Not only is activated charcoal the absolute bomb at drawing out pollution, dirt and impurities from pores, but peel-off masks are super convenient - they’re easy to use and *intensely* satisfying to remove.

Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Anti-Blackhead Peel Off Mask is one of the latest charcoal masks on the block, and it contains natural origin charcoal and powerhouse ingredient salicylic acid to deeply cleanse pores and target pesky blackhead-causing impurities like dirt and sebum to efficiently remove them from your T-zone (nose, forehead and chin), refine skin texture and tighten pores.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this product to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Anti-Blackhead Peel Off Mask to a panel aged between 18 and 35 who suffer from stubborn blackheads.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Anti-Blackhead Peel Off Mask.

How smooth their skin felt: Reviewers found that after using the mask their skin felt smooth, clean and soft. Many compared the feeling to a freshly exfoliated complexion and found the mask to be very effective at removing dead skin.

How it reduces the size of pores: Members were impressed with how the mask worked to reduce and tighten the appearance of pores. Some members also noticed a reduction in blackheads around their T-zone.

The cooling effect: The panel loved the cooling or ‘tingling’ effect on their skin, finding the mask refreshing and energising.

Good to know: While many reviewers loved the fragrance of the mask, it might not be for you if you prefer scent-free products.

The verdict

“I thought it worked great. After using it for two weeks I saw a noticeable difference in the amount and the severity of my blackheads. The mask was easy to apply. It was also great how the mask did not hurt to peel off, but once you peeled it off you could see the blackheads that had come out onto the mask. I've used pore strips before, but this product definitely works much better and is much less painful!”

“I love the smell of it, leaves my skin feeling super fresh. The first time I used it I wasn’t too sure, but after using it again I saw that it pulled a lot of gunk out of my pores. Would recommend using a thicker layer rather than a thinner one and letting it completely dry before peeling off.”

“If you’re an extremely oily gal like me, but not the biggest fan of the blackhead/pore strips, then I would recommend giving this product a go! I have been using this product for about 12 days and it is extremely easy to use and not painful to remove at all (huge plus for us with sensitive skin). Leaves the skin feeling nice and smooth!”
