Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot shares her beauty secrets
What is takes to get super-human skin
She landed the role of Wonder Woman, does her own stunts and likes to experiment with skin care. Here, the Israeli-born actress spills the secrets to her enviable complexion and how she maintains her superhero figure.
How would you describe your beauty routine? Has it changed since you became a mother [to daughter Alma, four]?
“Not much! Ever since I started working as a model and an actress, I’ve become very aware of my skin. I travel a lot and it gets really dehydrated, so I try to avoid that by using different products and drinking lots of water. I wake up, I wash my face and then I go to work, and they do my makeup there. When I’m home, I make sure to really take off all the makeup. “
You’re the face of Gucci Bamboo fragrances. What’s your earliest memory of perfume?
“I like different scents and I’m really curious about them – I like to explore. My mum had so many perfumes and I remember, when I was 10 or 12, going to her cabinet and trying them all.”
Wonder Woman is such an iconic character. What is your hair and makeup like in the film?
“It’s very big, wavy and impressive hair, but it was important that she still looks natural, so I don’t wear heavy makeup. We do some contouring, very thin eyeliner and a lot of mascara.”
You trained as a dancer and you also do Pilates. Do you have a strict fitness regimen?
“[While shooting Wonder Woman I stuck] to the routine we needed for the role. I [did] a lot of gym, weights, horse riding and sword fighting. When I don’t work, I love paddle boarding. You get to relax – it’s almost meditative – but it’s also hard. It’s all about balancing and your core, and there’s a lot of shoulder and arm work.”
You served in the Israeli Defence Force and did your own stunts in the Fast and the Furious series. What’s your most daring one?
“In one of the [films], I jump off a motorcycle onto a SUV – that pushed my limits! In Wonder Woman and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I do a lot of hand-to-hand combat and fighting.”
When do you feel most beautiful?
“When I’m on vacation, wearing no makeup and enjoying the sun. I’m relaxed, have had enough rest and I’m with the people I love – my family.”
