5 need-to-know steps for a better DIY blow-dry
These insider tips will change your blow-dry game
These insider tips will change your blow-dry game
We do it most days, but are we doing it right? Let’s all learn from the master of the blow-dry, Anthony Nader, who’s worked the tresses of supermodels such as Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr. Follow these steps and you’ll nail your at-home blow-dry every time.
1
Use serum wisely
If you like to use a hair serum, always apply to damp hair strands and then blow-dry. This absorbs far better than on dry hair, and in turn, the sheen looks more red carpet worthy, which is always key to great-looking hair. Try Pure Hair Food Feed Your Hair Smoothing Serum.
2
Attach the nozzle…
…To the end of your hairdryer for a more polished and professional finish. The narrow nozzle targets the airflow to sculpt your strands perfectly to your brush size. We like Parlux 3200 Ceramic & Ionic Compact Hairdryer.
3
Don’t overload your strands
This is vital for a longer-lasting style, as too much product will weigh down your hair and also become dirtier quicker. Less is more!
4
Hold off on using your brush to smooth strands until the end
We all love a short cut and, most importantly, saving time. So, to speed up your drying time, shake your hair dry with your fingertips for at least 80 per cent of the blow-dry, before you start your brushwork. Your arms will thank you too. Brush we recommend: Brushworx Tourmaline Boar Bristle Radial Brush.
5
Go easy on the hairspray
Use strong hairspray minimally – opt for just a little at the time when you need to give your hairstyle a punch of staying power. Steer clear of heavy lacquers, ladies, or you could end up with a ‘helmet head’! We love L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Normal Strength Hairspray.
