Former Victoria's Secret model Elyse Taylor has a simple approach to beauty and a penchant for radiant skin. To find out the secrets behind her own beauty routine, we asked the 30-year-old model, mother and face of Nude by Nature to talk with us about letting your natural beauty shine through.
What’s your best beauty tip?
With makeup, I’d say always apply a primer —I’ve found it holds my foundation in place so well, especially in warmer weather. [Our pick: Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Cream]. Also, less is more. So many young girls are putting too much on their face, all the contouring and craziness. I think you should just highlight what you have, not mask it.
You’ve been the face of Nude by Nature for a few years now – what do you like about the brand?
I love the fact it’s 100 per cent cruelty-free and there are no synthetic ingredients or preservatives—that’s really important to me. I’m a mum, so I’m always taking note of ingredients and aiming to keep things clean and clear. I’m conscious of what [two-year-old daughter] Lila is getting into, so it’s one less thing I have to worry about.
Which Nude by Nature products are your favourite?
There are two. I love the Touch of Glow Highlight Stick in Champagne; it’s perfect for emphasising cheekbones and accentuating certain features, giving a fresh look. I also can’t live without the BB cream. It’s great because I have no time and it literally does everything—great coverage, covers redness and has SPF protection.
How do you pamper yourself?
I love to get a massage—that’s such a luxury for me—or maybe a mani and pedi.
What’s your favourite feature?
My hair.
What are your must-have products when you’re travelling?
I always take sheet masks; I usually do one on the plane. I also have to take mascara, BB cream, and I love the KORA Organics lip gloss— and paw paw and rosehip oil for when my skin gets really dry. [Try: Lucas’ Papaw Ointment and Natural Instinct Rejuvenating Rosehip Oil].
How do you spend a day off?
I guess a day off is normally early to bed the night before with Lila, and an early rise. We make a nice breakfast, hang out, walk the dog, go to the park, watch a Disney movie.
Keen to try a natural beauty look, too? Here are three easy steps to enhance your features.
