The product

When you think of customised skin care regimens, it’s likely Clinique’s iconic 3-Step system springs to mind. In fact, back when it launched in 1968, it was the first custom-fit skin care range of its kind.

And now Clinique is taking customised skin care to the next level with its new Clinique iD custom-blend moisturisers.

The product contains three different Hydration Bases (jelly, lotion and gel), that can be paired with one of five Active Cartridge Concentrates to address a variety of skin concerns including irritated/delicate skin, pores and uneven skin texture, uneven skin tone, fatigue, and lines and wrinkles.

But that’s not all… To take the guesswork out of which components to choose, Clinique have introduced their Clinical Reality™ tool that analyses your skin and matches you with the best Clinique iD blend. But that’s a whole ‘nother story in itself, which you can read all about here.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this product to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew invited a panel of women aged 18 to 54 to participate in a hands-on Review Crew® event with Clinique. Clinique’s National Retail Education Manager Rene Benkenstein attended the event along with a team of Clinique experts to assist Review Crew® members with using the Clinical Reality® tool and selecting their customised Clinique iD hydrators.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about Clinique iD:

The effectiveness of the Clinical Reality® tool: The Review Crew® was impressed by the level of detail and personalisation the Clinical Reality® tool gave when identifying their skin concerns and providing recommendations.

That the product was customisable: Many of the panel mentioned how much they loved the customisable nature of the product and liked that they were able to choose their preferred Hydrator Base (based on their texture preference) to go with their recommended Active Cartridge Concentrate.

How well their individual skin concerns were treated: Reviewers were excited by the improvement they saw in their skin concerns after using their customised formula for just two weeks. They were also impressed by how hydrating the formulas were.

The verdict

“Over the past month, I've been using the moisturising lotion base paired with the green serum for irritated skin. So far this has dramatically improved my rosacea, calming down the redness on my face with active ingredients such as aloe vera. The base is perfect for my dry/combination skin, it absorbs quickly into my skin leaving it feeling fresh and clean without that annoying sticky feeling other moisturises tend to give. The Clinique ID has completely changed the game for moisturisers, I cannot recommend this enough!”
