Chloe Morello has had the most dramatic brow transformation
We’re shook
The days of the pencil-thin brows of the ‘90s are, without question, over. But the heavy block brows that took their place aren’t exactly en vogue either.
We’re starting to see a new type of brow emerge and take centre stage.
It’s full without looking stencilled, and it’s fluffy without appearing too unkempt. It’s not a look that dominates your face, it’s just kinda like your own natural brows but better. You know what we mean?
And it seems Australian beauty vlogger Chloe Morello is fully on board. She’s transitioned from her previously-favoured ultra-polished brow to a much fuller, fluffier and natural look.
Here are the before and after photos of Chloe Morello’s brow transformation:
Needless to say, we are shook!
“My eyebrows are actually one or two rows of hair thicker in the arch and in the underside of eyebrow,” says Chloe in a YouTube video. Just wow.
And it’s our lucky day ‘cause Chloe has kindly dished on how she grew out her brows. As with all things beauty, we’re lapping up ALL of the deets.
So, why did she do it?
“One day I was like ‘my eyebrows are too polished, I wanted them to look thicker and more fashionable, and more natural’ - so I decided to grow them out,” explains Chloe in her YouTube video.
Yep, we totally know those feels. Undone brows seem to be so much more on-trend than overly-groomed brows right now – just check out the likes of Taylor Hill and Gigi Hadid to get the vibe.
Chloe also revealed in an Instagram post that her new brow look “helps me carry heavier makeup looks in a more wearable way. It’s more on-trend/fresh and it also made me look more youthful IMO. Suits my face more since it’s much more how they were before I ever plucked!”
How did she do it?
Chloe says she drew advice from this blog post by her friend and fellow-blogger Karima McKimmie. But, she also seems to attribute a lot of her brow-growing success to simply being committed when it came to avoiding the temptation of over-grooming her brows.
“I was surprised by how fast I was able to grow out my eyebrows by just putting the tweezers down,” says Chloe in her vlog.
To stop herself from over-tweezing (how many of us are guilty of this?!), Chloe came up with a clever hack:
“I still plucked my eyebrows but I didn’t allow myself to go near them when I didn’t have them done [filled-in]. When I was shading them in, I shaded them over the line and then I was allowed to take the tweezers and pluck the ones that were outside the perimeter of the eyebrow shape that I drew.”
What products did she use?
Besides setting limits on her tweezer usage, Chloe also used a variety of lash serums including Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die For Turbo Nighttime Eyelash Treatment, Lashfood Eyelash Enhancer Serum and Latisse.
How long did it take?
Chloe hasn’t given an exact timeframe on this but says, “after about a month the ugly stumpy hair has kind of grown out and they were looking like normal hairs. More hairs just started growing through and came out of nowhere. I didn’t even know I had those hairs. They came through over the next few months. I still think they’re going to keep growing but I’m pretty pleased with where they are now.”
So there you have it! If you’re also keen on growing out your brows into a fuller, more textured look, our three main takeaways from Chloe are: 1) lock away your tweezers and only touch them when your brows are filled-in, 2) invest in a lash or brow serum, and 3) BE PATIENT.
Going by Chloe’s transformation, we think the results are well worth the commitment!
