Caitlin Stasey's apocalypse survival kit contains these beauty essentials
The ‘Class Of ‘07’ star doesn’t mind getting crafty with a nail file
Caitlin Stasey’s character in Amazon’s Class Of ‘07 (the severely misunderstood Saskia) believes that “immaculate personal grooming” even in the midst of an apocalypse can be one’s “last vestige of normality”.
Now look, prioritising an evening skin care routine and a bouncy blow-dry might seem frivolous when one’s survival is on the line. But, in the words of Stasey’s character: “Having a neat head of hair is the equivalent of working from home and making your bed every day.”
And we’d tend to agree.
Regardless of the chaos in our lives, if we have the opportunity to carve out time for ourselves and invest in some much-needed self-care, you best believe we’re going to do it.
So we put the question to Stasey herself — if the world ended tomorrow, what beauty essentials is she stashing in her apocalypse survival kit?
This is her doomsday prepper starter pack: beauty edition (of course).
The skin care products she can’t live without
Even in the middle of an apocalypse the actress plans to stay vigilant about sun safety — the number one skin care item she’s stocking up on? “Sunscreen!” exclaims Stasey.
Specifically, Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF50+ Superscreen ($42 at MECCA).
“Maybe [I’ll also need] some hyaluronic acid to keep me hydrated while running from zombies,” she muses.
Try: SkinCeuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier ($156 at Adore Beauty)
She’s not afraid to get crafty with a nail tool in order to survive
When living in a post-apocalyptic world, one is presented with life-threatening dangers on a daily basis. So how do you protect yourself against aforementioned zombies and the like?
Stasey encourages you to reconsider the function of seemingly benign beauty tools such as a nail file — “I could use it as a weapon when the raiders come,” she suggests matter-of-factly.
She’s also not afraid to dip into her tool kit as an actor if it means making it through another day; “[I would] cry on cue for sympathy and extra rations,” she admits.
FYI: she’s saving her aesthetician first
In the case of an apocalypse, one requires a saviour of biblical proportions, which is why Stasey’s nominated her aesthetician Molly M Lucio to accompany her on our hypothesised ark.
Who needs Noah when Lucio can “beat a blackhead out of you during a polar vortex or the sun exploding”? That is the question.
While Caitlin Stasey seems more than capable of carrying her own in the event of an apocalypse, judging by his boujee grooming routine, The Last Of Us star Pedro Pascale might not fare quite as well.

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends.
