LA’s popular anti-ageing treatment has finally hit our shores
And you’re going to want to book in for it ASAP
One of the fastest growing anti-ageing treatments to take LA by storm is now available in Australia – and we want to be first in line.
A hit amongst celebs and sports stars in the US, the beauty treatment involves an infusion therapy, which promises to reboot your energy, focus and metabolism, while improving your cardiovascular health. It can also help you detox from alcohol and drugs. Yep, it’s pretty damn impressive.
The main ingredient? A little coenzyme compound by the name of NAD+ (short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), which plays a vital role in regulating how quickly your cells age.
As we age, our natural NAD+ levels typically decline, which can lead to disorders such as diabetes, heart disease and Alzheimers. However, thanks to a joint study by research teams at the University of New South Wales and Harvard, it was found that supplemented NAD+ could actually help slow the ageing process, while also helping repair DNA damage.
The researchers treated mice with NAD+, finding after just one week of treatment that the cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the younger mice. It showed that those treated with NAD+ lived a whopping 20 per cent longer than the control group. Yep, wow.
So, where can us humans get in on some of this action? AgelessNAD+ in Bondi Junction is the first NAD+ clinic to open in Australia, and more are due to open within the next few months.
AgelessNAD+ offer NAD+ infusions to treat a range of age-related and substance use conditions. In a nutshell, by flooding the body with NAD+ and combining the therapy with prescription NAD+ booster supplements, the treatment works to increase NAD+ levels and make you feel more energised and focused, while cutting your cravings for all the bad stuff.
While research is still underway as to the other possibilities NAD+ can offer, there’s no doubt that there’s some exciting stuff on the horizon – we’ll keep you posted!
