Pinterest has predicted the next big beauty trend
And it’s good news for the environment
This year Pinterest has given us the hair trend of our lazy girl dreams, the most popular nail polish colour (which sold out in minutes) and the makeup shade that is about to be everywhere. The latest development in upcoming trends according to the Internet is one that just happens to be extremely good for the environment (amongst other things). The trend on the rise is organic, vegan and natural beauty products. While natural beauty products have been on the rise for some time, this eco-friendly trend has seen mainstream brands jump on board, making natural products more accessible than ever before.
According to the Pinterest blog, “[these] products are growing in popularity as Pinners think about their impact on the environment. From organic coffee scrubs to vegan friendly moisturisers, there are lots of way for Pinners to respect the environment as they beautify.”
Pinterest’s ‘Natural beauty’ board boasts a following of 19,300 followers, and features a collection of hero products such as Frank Body’s Original Coffee Scrub and Tarte’s Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturiser. These brands are proving just how quickly natural brands are claiming cult status; Frank Body’s most recent release – Shimmer Scrub, has already racked up a waiting list of 50,000 people.
Further proof that the trend is definitely on its way, Olivia Wilde has just been announced as the first celebrity ambassador for a natural beauty company – True Botanicals. We have a feeling this trend isn’t going anywhere!
