Prepare for the age of 'blonzer': where blush and bronzer meet

Shop the glowing rouged trend taking over summer skin

When our girl Hannah Montana sang "you get the best of both worlds", we didn't realise she was actually singing about blonzer.

Okay, maybe not, but we swear this trend totally applies to the banger tune. But before we get ahead of ourselves, what actually is blonzer?

Well, as you're probably aware by now, we're all suffering from a little blush blindness, but it's about to get even more intense, because we're mixing the worlds of blush and bronzer together to get blonzer. So, how do you apply this TikTok co-signed trend?

How to master blonzer

Let's be real; applying a deeper shade of blush as a bronzer combo isn't the newest technique in the world, but if you slap a trend title on it, you just know we'll be there. But the thing about blonzer as Melissa Murdick explains is that it needs to have a slightly reddier tone (think coppers) that will bring out that 'sun kissed' summer-y aspect of you makeup.

Simply dapple the blonzer across your cheeks, nose and forehead anywhere the sun would naturally hit your face, giving you that day at the beach-esque glow that is perfect for warmer weather.

Melding the worlds of blush and bronzer just can't be easy. But with all the blush trends coming and going, our fave beauty brands are always ready with the next best colour. The 'blonzer' application takes notes from the 'W application' technique, giving off a slightly sunkissed aura.

Our top three products to try the trend? Well, we couldn't go past the exact product that Murdick suggests in her video, Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in 'Captivate' ($49 at Sephora). Much like the cult-rated blushes, this luminiser is equally as pigmented and offers a level of glossy highlighting goodness. Can anyone say three-in-one?

Much like the literal liquid gold Murdick recommends, the bareMinerals Gen Nude Blonzer in 'Kiss of Rose' ($46 at MECCAoffers a similar level triple threat, but in powder formula. And yep, you clocked that right, it is literally named 'blonzer' so you know you're totally on trend.

If you've seen Sofia Richie Grainge's bronzer combo, you know the golden tone is elite. Not only is it incredible, it also works perfectly for piling on the blonzer tone. The product in question? Nudestix Nudies Matte All Over Face Bronze Color in 'Sunkissed' ($60 at Sephora).
