The only hair tool Blake Lively’s hair stylist uses
There’s no denying that Blake Lively has one of the best manes in Hollywood. The actress is famously known for her perfect-looking curls, whether it’s styled in an 80’s permed look, a beachy natural wave (a signature hairstyle of the The Shallows star), old Hollywood glamour curls, or 20s-inspired brushed out waves. Whichever style she chooses, the result is always breathtaking.
But as it turns out, Blake Lively’s hair stylist Rod Ortega surprisingly only uses ONE tool to create all of Blake’s many curled looks.
Flabbergasted? We were too.
Ortega shared in an interview to ELLE US that the T3 Whirl Trio Wand is the sole product responsible for transforming Blake’s hair. “I can do 20s, 80s, 2000s curls with the T3 Whirl Trio Wand, [and] you can do really sexy big tight 70s curls.”
The key to this versatile hair curler is the interchangeable barrels, with each barrel producing a different type of curl. There’s a 1.5 inch which is great for voluminous bombshell curls, a 1 inch straight barrel that’s best for the perfect soft vintage-looking wave, and a tapered barrel at 0.75 – 1.25 inches, ideal for a relaxed beachy look.
"With my fingers, I wrap the hair just like a corkscrew around the iron, but make it more modern by not fully curling the ends," explains Ortega. "It's less curly-Q and gives it more of a boho look."
The T3 Whirl Trio Wand tends to lean more on the expensive side, priced at $270 on Amazon, but if you break it down by cost per curl type, it’s a pretty good steal! If this is still a little out of your budget, try the Muk Curl Stick Collection or Remington’s 1 1/2" 2-in-1 Curling Iron, both also have changeable barrels that produce different type of curls.
