This is not a drill: Beautyblender is launching its first foundation
And it comes with a neat twist
There’s no denying that the OG Beautyblender COMPLETELY revolutionised our makeup game forever. If you’re anything like us (and Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner), this little gem has become a staple in your makeup kit. And it looks like the iconic Beautyblender brand is about to do it all again, announcing the release of its first foundation.
Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation is a whipped, full-coverage foundation that will be released in 32 different shades - and it features quite possibly the *coolest* little twist we’ve ever seen.
It’s completely sponge-friendly (no surprise there) and comes with its own little egg-shaped palette on the side of the bottle so you can pump a drop or two of foundation on the surface, dip away with your sponge and apply the product from there. (Read: No fingers, less bacteria, happier skin). This design also provides the perfect surface to play with your foundation, allowing you to mix in a moisturiser or oil to your base. We are SO in!

Beautyblender creator Rea Ann Silva told Allure that it took up to almost two years to perfect the formulation. “What we ended up with is an incredibly lightweight, buildable foundation that can easily be sheered out or layered for more complete coverage,” she says. Fun fact: Silva actually came up with the concept for this foundation BEFORE the sponge.
The featherweight formula promises to offer 24-hour coverage and has what Silva described as a ‘velveteen’ matte finish – meaning your skin will still look like skin. Winning! “Think of it as just slightly more lustrous than velvet. It looks matte straight on, but it still catches the light for added dimension,” explains Silva.
And it looks like there are more exciting products in the works. “Let’s just say that Beautyblender is all about complexion, so look for more launches in that category come next year,” teased Silva.
The Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation will be hitting Australian shores in January 2019 - so not long to wait! They'll set you back $60 and will be available in Sephora stores and and online.
