What a beauty editor would shop at Adore Beauty's first ever IRL store
We have some very delightful news to share with you.
After almost 25 years as Australia's leading online beauty retailer, Adore Beauty, will be opening its very first brick and mortar store at Westfield Southland in Melbourne's south east.
The new store will feature some of the retailer's best-selling brands (read: Estée Lauder, La Roche Posay, Who Is Elijah, Oribe, and more), as well as, digital kiosks that will allow customers to browse over 14,000 products in-store, read reviews, and check the ingredients of each product.
But the best part? Adore Beauty's IRL store will offer a free Tim Tam with purchase, just like every online order placed with the beauty retailer.
If you're a Melbourne local (or happen to be visiting the city on February 1st) doors will open at 9am, and the first 250 customers in store will receive a free Adore Beauty goodie bag filled with over 20 deluxe samples.

1/ Literally anything from Olaplex
I'll be the first to admit I have an unhealthy obsession with this brand, but it's not my fault that I see an immediate, positive change in my hair when I try one of their products.
I've been going through bottles of the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector Pre-Shampoo Strengthening and Reparative Hair Treatment ($54 from Adore Beauty), Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Strengthening and Reparative Hair Shampoo ($54 from Adore Beauty), and Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Strengthening and Reparative Hair Conditioner ($54 from Adore Beauty) at an alarming rate.
Then there's also the Olaplex N.5L Leave in Conditioner ($58 from Adore Beauty), Olaplex No. 9 Bond Protector Heat Protection & Frizz Reduction Nourishing Hair Serum ($54 from Adore Beauty), and Olaplex No.4D Clean Volume Weightless Oil-Absorption Detox Dry Shampoo ($54 from Adore Beauty), which have all become essential to my hair styling routine.
I think I might need professional help at this point.

2/ All of my favourite serums
As a lover of K-Beauty, J-Beauty, and gentle skin care products in general, most of my favourite serums can be found at Adore Beauty.
There's Medik8's Hydr8 B5 Intense ($115 from Adore Beauty) and Hada Labo's Premium Lotion Intense 7x HA Super Deep Hydrator ($48.95 from Adore Beauty) for the days when my dehydrated skin feels bone dry.
The beauty retailer also stocks the formulas I rely on to keep my skin feeling balanced and healthy, and looking youthful. Read: Sulwhasoo's First Care Activating Serum ($119 from Adore Beauty), The Ordinary's GF 15% Solution ($26.90 from Adore Beauty), and Bioderma's Sensibio Soothing Defensive Serum for Sensitive Skin ($54.99 from Adore Beauty).
Not to mention, my luggage-friendly travel buddies — AKA Beauty Of Joseon's Hanbang Serum Discovery Kit ($58 from Adore Beauty) — which are absolute saviours after a long haul flight.

3/ The moisturisers that changed my mind about night creams
I always thought that the concept of using a day cream in the morning and a night cream in the morning was silly and overkill.
That is until I tried these two moisturisers.
Sulwhasoo's Concentrated Renewing Cream Classic ($199 from Adore Beauty) is like the luxurious cream counterpart to my favourite Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum ($119 from Adore Beauty), and the texture of the ginseng-infused formula is unlike anything I've ever massaged into my skin.
While, Medik8's Advanced Night Restore ($138 from Adore Beauty) is perhaps the sole product that keeps my skin going in winter. If you deal with dry or dehydrated skin like myself, finding a product that emulates the dewy glow one naturally possesses in the summer feels like an impossibility — or at least it used to.

4/ The lip products I always have multiples of
As beauty lovers we know that one can not simply live without having constant access to some form of hydrating lip product.
For myself, this means stashing a vial of Clarins Lip Comfort Oil ($48 from Adore Beauty) in every handbag I own, and keeping a tub of Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask ($31 from Adore Beauty) next to my bed, as well as the bathroom cabinet, as a bare minimum.
However, that certainly doesn't stop me from carrying a ballpark of seven to nine lip products in my bag at all times. I am, after all, just a girl.

5/ My dry skin saviours
My skin is either dry and/or dehydrated almost all of the time, so I have to make a considered effort on a daily basis to keep it from looking dull and crusty.
This means that I only wash my body with hydrating formulas like Bioderma's Atoderm Ultra-Nourishing Cleansing Shower Oil ($46.99 from Adore Beauty), which keeps my skin squeaky clean without making it feel tight or uncomfortable after I get out of the shower.
I also always spritz my face with some form of face mist — although Avène's Thermal Spring Water Spray ($28.99 from Adore Beauty) is my absolute favourite — to prep my skin for the rest of routine. It just ensures that my skin care products actually absorb into my skin properly, rather than just sitting on the surface, and evaporating into thin air.
Despite the fact that my skin is dry, I'm really bad at consistently applying body lotion (it's a texture thing). It's for this reason that I try to only keep lightweight and fast-absorbing moisturisers and body serums in my collection, like The Ordinary's Niacinamide 5% Face and Body Emulsion ($22.20 from Adore Beauty).

6/ A new perfume to add to my stupidly large fragrance collection
When it comes to fragrance I cannot see sense.
I already own too many perfumes, but I have no intention of stopping myself from adding Who Is Elijah's newest scent 'Chemical Addiction' ($135 from Adore Beauty) to my collection.
It's one of the more unique fragrances I've sampled in recent years, and features a blend of mandarin, lemon, bergamot, blackcurrant, white florals, pink musk, and blonde woods, in a way that's both fresh and sultry at the same time.
In other words — it's a must have.

Love to know what Beauty Editors think about beauty trends? Here are 8 of the worst beauty trends we're not bringing into 2025.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
