Victoria’s Secret’s makeup artist shares his go-to products
For the perfect low-maintenance makeup look
When the makeup artist responsible for the iconic Victoria’s Secret smoky eye (seen below on Angels Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill) revealed his favourite makeup products and how he uses them, we jumped online immediately so we could add to cart.
That makeup artist was Hung Vanngo and he recently took to his Instagram to share with his 377,000 followers the products he turns to for a low-key makeup look. He captioned the flat lay: “These would be good for someone on the go, or who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time on makeup everyday.” Which let’s be honest, applies to all of us at some time or another.
These are our favourite products from Vanngo’s go-to kit plus his tips for how to best use them.
#1 / NARS Eye Paint in Porto Venere
His sneaky hack is to use NARS Eye Paint in Porto Venere as an eyeshadow primer rather than an eyeshadow. “It’s a light beige, and has just the tiniest bit of pearl in it, so will help to instantly even and brighten the eyelids for a smooth canvas.”
#2 / Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizer
This Rituel de Fille illuminator comes in three shades and is extremely versatile. It is great for “adding a soft, life-like glow on different skin tones. They are subtle and blendable.” Says Vanngo. He also likes to experiment with using it as a sheer eyeshadow or in the centre of the lips to add dimension.
#3 / Lilah B. Lip & Cheek Divine Duo
Vanngo credits Lilah B. Lip & Cheek Divine Duo as the perfect multitasking product for a no-fuss makeup look. It can be worn on the lips, cheeks or as a cream eyeshadow.
#4 / The Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner
“[The Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner is] a bit more sheer than a regular lip liner, so will give you a clean line without looking too done.”
