Follow these quick steps to get your hair back to beautiful
You spend so much time pampering your skin with anti-ageing ingredients to help your complexion look young and radiant, but if you’re not paying similar attention to your hair, all your hard work could be for nothing. Dry, coarse, lifeless and grey hair can all be telltale signs of your age. Follow these simple steps and your hair will be looking younger and more vibrant in no time.
1
Choose the right products
Dry, fine, colour, volume... the range of shampoos and conditioners is vast. “Don’t feel restricted,” says Marc Armstrong, Hair Director for RAW Salon. “Just mix it up until you get the look you want.” He suggests a colour shampoo with a volume conditioner like RPR Extend My Colour Shampoo and RPR My Thicker, Fuller, Stronger Conditioner.
2
Get a dose of antioxidants
The sun not only ages your skin, it also breaks down your hair’s keratin (the protein inside the strand), making it weaker. “All colour suffers too by fading or turning brassy,” says Armstrong. Hair needs to be protected year-round, so do a weekly deep conditioner that’s rich in antioxidants to keep your colour on track for longer. We like Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Hair Masque.
3
Cover up your roots
Root concealers have tinted formulas that deliver temporary colour that rinses out when you shampoo. They’re a great choice for those days when you spot a few greys but don’t have time to make a trip to your hairdresser. “Start gradually and just stick to your parting hair line,” explains Armstrong. “Don’t spray too close to the roots or it can go clumpy and not look natural.” Try L’Oréal Paris Magic Retouch Instant Root Concealer Spray and Cover Your Gray Hair Color Touch-Up Waterproof Pencil in Dark Brown.
Youthful skin? Check! Younger-looking hair? Yes! Now it's time to make sure your makeup isn't ageing you.
