Amazon is notorious for ensuring they offer competitive prices and speedy delivery, so it should come as no surprise that the online retailer’s approach to the biggest sale season of the year is equally thorough.
Prior to revealing its plans for Black Friday, Amazon conducted research to better inform themselves about what Amazon customers want from the global online sale. As a result of the retailer’s research (that found over a third of customers like to ponder a purchase over a few days before buying), Amazon has shared that the Black Friday sale period will be extended for Amazon customers: Monday 20th November (00:01 AEDT) to Sunday 3rd December (11:59 AEDT).
Amazon’s research highlighted that 91 per cent of Australians are being more thoughtful about their purchases, while 78 per cent utilise sales like Black Friday when buying big ticket items. 66 per cent of people compare prices from different retailers before making a purchase, 56 per cent research the prices of multiple brands and models, and 49 per cent read first-person reviews before adding to cart.
Amazon also promises to extend its product catalogue during the Black Friday sale period, with deals from Germany, Japan, the UK and the U.S available on Amazon Australia through the Amazon Global Store. Customers will also be able to benefit from a variety of convenient delivery options tailored to the two week period such as free standard shipping for all Amazon Prime members and on orders over $59 for non-members.
